Barafsar Lake Trek is one of the unexplored treks of Kashmir due to its high altitude, steep gradient, and unexpected weather conditions which can change time. Barafsar Lake is also the highest alpine lake in Kashmir at an altitude of 4600 m. The other names that are given to Barafsar Lakes are Durinar I, II & III. The trek to Barafsar trek starts from Saribal village which is the last village in Kashmir Valley. The road that leads to this village is also from where the Amarnath pilgrimage starts. Apart from these lakes, one can experience two alpine meadows, Kolahoi Pass, technical cliffs, and Thajwas Wildlife Sanctuary. Chuharnag & Shilsar Lake Trek or TchorNag is made up of two Kashmir words – Tchor means four and Nag spring. So the name is given to a collection of four lakes situated deep into the mountain range at an altitude of about 14500 feet above sea level which offers little to sustain life because of which the meadows are also known as the Death Valley but with unparalleled beauty. Chuharnag is a vast green meadow with high and tall mountains surrounding the lakes. The locals believe that these lakes consist of a mother having three sons who live in close proximity.    In addition to the Chuharnag trek this camping adventure will take you to Shilsar Lake as well, which is approximately a 3-hour distance from Margan Top. Tosa Wild Lakes trek starts from Tosamaidan or "Tu Shah Maidan" (which means King of Meadows in Kashmiri). During ancient times when the Mughals were traveling to Kashmir used to enter Kashmir via Loran(Poonch) and the first stopover in the valley was Tosamaidan. This is where the Mughals used to rest and then move forward for their ongoing journey. Tosamaidan was leased to the Indian Army for 50 years which ended in April 2014 and J&K tourism was set up in September 2014 to open up the area for the general public. The surrounding area of Tu Shah Maidan or Tosamaidan is filled with wildflowers, lakes and if the weather permits you can see the peaks of Mt. Harmukh, Mt. Kolahai, and Mt. Nun Kun as well.  Wildfloc has given the name of Tosa Wild Lakes(TWL) trek to the 11 alpine lakes which will be covered under our trekking and camping adventures. The famous alpine lakes which will be covered under Tosa Wild Lakes are Gadatarsar, Navkandarlakut, Kharasar, Damamsar, Chinamargsar, Bodhsar, Lakutsar, Pathrisar, Pamsar, and Gurwansar. Kausarnaag trek 3 days and 2 nights is one of the best trek for with a breathtaking view of the mighty Himalayas.
